Egg Shell
It is the strongest and yet most delicate material. Eggshell is made entirely from calcium carbonate. This is the main component of many materials found in nature: rocks, seashells and pearls. Eggshell also comes from one of nature’s most beautiful and primordial forms - the egg. The eggshell is actually three distinct layers, all of which work together to defend the rest of the egg against bacterial invasion. Calcium rich eggshells offers a variety of uses in the garden and around the home, but this delicate material is particularly beautiful used in crafts and in inlay works.
Each piece of cleaned egg shell is manually inlaid and cracked onto the substrate.
The mosaic pattern will depend on the pattern. Once the design has been completed, clear coating is applied to protect the intricate mosaic pattern the crackled eggshell has produced.
